Format for a newspaper article
This is a simple and fun lesson that I used
in my classroom. Students will pick an event such as the Boston Tea
Party, and write about it in newspaper article form. Students should
pretend that they are living during the time the event is taking place.
My students created their own headlines for each of their newspapers.
They also came up with quotes that they believed historical figures might
have said about the event. They finished their articles by including
pictures they found on the Internet. This lesson can be used to discuss
any period within history. It provides a fun and enetertaining way
for children to learn facts about certain historical events. To view
