Social Studies Lesson Plans        The main objective of this Web site is to help teachers enable their students to gain a better understanding of the period of time known as the American Revolution.  Through the lesson plans provided, I not only wanted to inform teachers, but have students a sense of the period through entertaining activities.  The typical history class can seem extremely boring to the average student.  It is our job as educators to present the information in the most invoking way we can.
     Through this website, students will be taught the subject matter through lessons that integrate language arts, dramatics, and technology.  It is necessary that we incorporate not only these, but all aspects of the curriculum within history.
     Each of these lessons can be used to teach other topics in history.  Overall, these integrations will be teaching students a number of skills as well as social studies content.  Through the activities students will be made aware of the importance of learning about the American Revolution.  I have used these lesson plans and they have proved to be very successful in my fifth grade classroom.  The lessons enable students to gain a better understanding of how our country and its institutions were shaped.
