Since college, I've been working hard and trying to play hard as well.  My time has been spent within various forms of psychology.   Now, I am very proud to call myself a psychologist.  Here's the very short version...First, working as a prison counselor, then transitioning to a human resource manager.  I started grad school part time in organizational psychology at Temple University.  Then, I quit my job to finish my master's full time and then became the Associate Director of a Training and Development Center at Temple.  I got my master's at Temple and continued onto my doctorate in Educational Psychology.  While in school, I continued to work at Temple, consult on the side, and then began to teach as an adjunct.

I earned my doctorate in January 2004.  I left the Training and Development Center in May 2003 to work on my dissertation.  I still consult and teach.  I truly love what I do.  I love doing research and connecting with students.  I am looking for a full time professor job.

My hobbies include traveling, scuba diving, biking, reading, and sometimes I'll bake.  Those who knew me in college should know that I still don't cook, clean, sew, or iron.

Last July, I married the most fabulous man in the world:  Jeff Sumerson.  Jeff and I met on a blind date that was set up through a mutual friend.   Yes, I've had a lot of fortune, but he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  Jeff is kind, smart and funny as hell, open minded, creative, and fun.  He is a physician who specializes in infectious diseases.  He is also a passionate sports fan, especially football and baseball.  He is also my diving buddy.  We are season ticket  holders to the Philadelphia Eagles.  We live in the city of Philadelphia where we enjoy city life.

I am still very close to several Phi Sigs from "our generation".  Yes, once a Phi Sig, always a Phi Sig.

Okay, that's it for now.  I got class in a few minutes...

Stay in touch.

Warmest regards,

Joanne
