Lee waits until he knows what the enemy is up to

Then Lee orders units to move to their left and right

British general Clinton attacks the right flank

So right and left flanks both retreat

Washington moves forward annoyed with Lee's inablility
to send orders

Washington orders retreating troops into blocking
positions and prepared fresh troops

Forces were postioned by Washington and were able
to hold the British forces

At this battle , Washington failed to destroy the
British column, but damaged their troops badly
