Contramestre Eder was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the early age of 4, he experienced Capoeira for the first time at the Associacao de Capoeira Barravento. At the age of 6, Eder migrated to Canada with his parents training with his father in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he graduated instructor in 1999. In 2001,
Contramestre Eder went to Brazil and studied Capoeira with Mestre Bogado (Barravento group) for 7 months.
Contramestre Eder developed a very technical Capoeira style that prompted him to place 4th to 2nd in several tournaments. His high skills for acrobatic movements gave him excellent capabilities to become very noticeable on the break dance scene.
